PACS firm Medweb of San Francisco launched a new PACS package, Medweb Advanced 3D Web PACS, at this year's RSNA show.
The package allows users on a standard PC to use advanced 3D templating and autosegmenting of image data from spiral CT scanners. It provides radiologists, surgeons, oncologists, and other physicians who need access to imaging technologies the benefits of isolating, sculpting, zooming in, and rotating images, as well as MIP, MPR, and 3D cursor functions alongside conventional 2D image windows. The package can be integrated into an existing PACS, used as a standalone unit, or function as a modality PACS system.
The company also debuted Medweb Dashboard, a RIS that allows single or multisite radiology groups to share workloads between multiple PACS and HIS/RIS systems from various vendors. The system creates a virtual reading room that automatically loads, assigns, and reassigns cases to radiologists based on their workload and location. Medweb Dashboard manages images, dictation, transcription, reporting, and optional voice recognition and billing.
Medweb also highlighted Mobile OR Gateway and Workstation, an OR PACS product that consists of a lightweight, diskless OR PACS workstation on a steel cart that allows for retrieval and display of images from the OR Gateway or any PACS system. The workstation includes a DICOM digital video recorder (DVR) that allows users to capture analog streaming video from DICOM or non-DICOM devices and convert them back to DICOM at 30 frames per second and 1K x 1K resolution. The unit is equipped with a 12-hour battery and includes a pneumatic arm for easy positioning of displays during surgery.
