Agfa HealthCare has received a contract from the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) in Canada.
The Greenville, SC-based vendor said it will provide its Impax PACS to migrate the GNWT's regional radiology services to a digital environment. Impax has already been installed at Stanton Territorial Hospital, one of the four main hospitals in the Northwest Territories, and the agreement foresees expansion of Impax to the other three facilities, Agfa said.
In addition, GNWT plans to deploy computed radiography (CR) systems in the 18 community health centers currently providing diagnostic imaging services in the Northwest Territories. The PACS project is scheduled to be completed at the end of April, with the CR installations projected to be finished in June 2010.
