Radiology informatics firm Aycan Medical Systems plans to introduce at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) a new application for transferring DICOM images from hospitals and imaging centers to radiologists and referring physicians with an iPad.
Aycan xr.ay works with the company's OsiriX Pro, allowing users to send DICOM images to any 3G UMTS iPad. The application does not require the setup of a VPN tunnel, as all images are automatically encrypted, and it has received the European CE Mark, according to Aycan.
