Agfa HealthCare is featuring its new Impax Radiation Exposure Monitoring (REM) system and upgrades to Impax Business Intelligence at the 2012 RSNA meeting in Chicago.
Demonstrated as a work-in-progress, Impax REM provides an automated way to collect, organize, and analyze patients' radiation exposure data It provides access to patients' available history of radiation exposure from medical imaging studies and radiation exposure estimates from all points of care.
The software is designed to give healthcare providers access to dose-tracking information, regardless of equipment or PACS vendor, across multiple imaging and therapeutic modalities, departments, and healthcare institutions.
Impax REM grew out of a two years of collaborative research between Agfa, the National Research Council of Canada, McMaster University, and Hamilton Health Sciences.
Agfa is also showcasing Impax Business Intelligence v2, which features new functionalities to enhance accessibility and optimize usage. The new version includes seven additional languages and a live dashboard that monitors and provides alerts to patient workflow in real-time. New "drill-down" capabilities and ad hoc structured queries can be used to mine clinical data. A custom report building option also was added.
