PACS vendor Sectra posted an increase in revenue and profitability in the second quarter of its 2017-2018 fiscal year.
For the period (end-October 31), Sectra had net sales of 313.4 million Swedish kronor ($37.1 million U.S.), up 13.8% from the 275.4 million kronor ($32.6 million) reported in the fiscal second quarter of 2016/2017. The company had an operating profit of 59.8 million kronor ($7.1 million), up 28.9% from its 46.4 million kronor ($5.5 million) for the same period last year.
Major variations between quarters continue to appear for order bookings, according to the company. Order bookings went up by 42.5%, from 299.6 million kronor ($35.4 million) last year to 426.8 million kronor ($50.5 million) this year -- considerably higher than the 0.9% increase in order bookings in the first quarter from 2016/2017 to 2017/2018.
Sectra is also investing in their new Canadian and French offices as they prepare for growth opportunities in the U.S., the company said.
