Siemens signs Novation deal

Multimodality vendor Siemens Medical Solutions has signed a clutch of dual-source three-year contracts with Novation, the Irving, TX-based supply company of VHA and the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC).

The contracts include dual-source agreements for CT, nuclear medicine, PET/CT, and x-ray technologies, and multisource agreements for MRI and ultrasound, the company said.

Several of the agreements for MRI and cardiac/vascular imaging are also included in a national group-buy program whereby Novation negotiates additional discounts on the basis of planned purchases by multiple hospitals within a specific calendar quarter, according to the Malvern, PA-based Siemens.
