Quantum gets Iraq contract

Quantum Medical Imaging has been awarded a contract to supply its Q-Rad Radiographic systems, which have been designed for use within mobile vehicles, in the U.S. government's program for the rebuilding of Iraq.

The contract, expected to run for two years, calls for Quantum to supply full radiographic units that will be installed in specially designed and manufactured mobile trucks, according to the Ronkonkoma, NY-based firm.

Each mobile unit will have an on-board generator supplying power to the device with a backup generator for redundancy. The U.S. Army, in conjunction with the Iraq Ministry of Health, will deploy the units throughout the country. The mobile units will also include other capabilities such as an on-board lab, Quantum said.
