GE Healthcare recorded third-quarter revenues of $3.58 billion, up 7% compared with the $3.33 billion posted in the same period a year ago. For the period (end-September 30), the Chalfont St. Giles, U.K.-based firm had profit in its healthcare segment of $589 million, compared with profit of $503 million last year.
In other quarterly highlights, GE said it increased total orders 8% to reach $3.7 billion, driven by 9% growth in services ($1.4 billion) and 7% growth in equipment ($2.3 billion).
GE attributed equipment gains to strength in CT, ultrasound, and nuclear orders. Strong demand was reported for its Imagination Breakthrough products, including more than $200 million in orders for its LightSpeed Volume CT scanner, GE said. In services, GE reported strength in core services and PACS.
