Health benefits provider WellPoint of Indianapolis has completed its acquisition of American Imaging Management (AIM) of Deerfield, IL, a radiology benefits management and technology company.
AIM will remain headquartered in Deerfield as a wholly owned operating division of Well Point, and its president, Dave Harrington, will continue on. WellPoint's main goal in the acquisition is to offer more affordable and appropriate diagnostic imaging services to its members, the company said. WellPoint's purchase of AIM will add to its earnings beginning in 2008.
