Orthopedic assessment firm Halifax Biomedical has added several executives to its management team.
Joining the firm as chief operating officer (COO) is John Simon, who will be responsible for growth of domestic and international sales and for scaling the company's operations in line with market expansion. His experience includes roles in business development and operations in industries including information technology, healthcare, energy, and government.
Named as chief technology officer (CTO) is Erik Giphart, PhD, a biomedical engineer and scientist with experience in orthopedic and joint motion research, design and development of advanced imaging techniques and devices, algorithm development, and biomechanics.
Finally, Halifax has named former vice president of finance Godfrey Marchand as chief financial officer (CFO). Prior to joining Halifax, Marchand was a co-founder and vice president of corporate affairs at Zelos Therapeutics, where he led the firm's initial venture financing rounds.
Halifax provides microinstability assessment services using proprietary stereoradiography imaging technology. The goal is to detect implant loosening in total hip and knee replacements and to quantify instability of the spinal column in patients with chronic low back pain.
