Australian imaging products provider Imaging Solutions has been awarded approximately $130,000 in damages in its litigation with Macro Niche Software over software used to inspect lead aprons.
The award was made after Imaging Solutions won a two-day trial before a federal jury in Houston in a case that involved Macro Niche, its CEO Michael Ruthemeyer, and another company, R/Med. The firms originally filed suit against Imaging Solutions in 2012, claiming the company had misappropriated software used to track and inspect lead aprons used in x-ray exams.
Imaging Solutions said it will pursue legal fees in the case, based on its belief that Macro Niche's case was frivolous.
