Siemens Healthcare has appointed David Pacitti as the new president of Siemens Medical Solutions USA.
Pacitti succeeds Dr. Gregory Sorensen, who stepped down after serving as president and CEO of the division from 2011 to 2015. Pacitti will also serve as head of Siemens' North America regional organization. He will be responsible for marketing, sales, service, and support for Siemens Healthcare in the U.S. and Canada.
He comes to Siemens Healthcare from Abbott Vascular, where he served as senior vice president of commercial, sales, marketing, and operations in the U.S. from 2013 to 2015; from 2009 to 2013, Pacitti was vice president of Abbott's commercial operations, the company said.
