Group purchasing organization Consorta of Schaumburg, IL, has signed a deal to install plain-paper x-ray printing systems from aycan Medical Systems of Rochester, NY, at member hospitals.
The aycan systems will be installed by Strong Value Group of Fort Lauderdale, FL, which resells the aycan product as Print Solution One. The product combines a high-resolution laser printer with an aycan DICOM print server to produce medical images as large as 11 x 17 inches on plain paper.
Consorta member hospitals will use Print Solution One to send plain-paper images to referring physicians at a cost that's lower than conventional x-ray film.
