Barco announced an upgrade to its 2MP medical color display system at this week's Society for Computer Applications in Radiology (SCAR) meeting in Orlando, FL.
The core of the updated system is its new Color Coronis display controller, designed to enhance performance, optimize 3D capabilities, and improve compatibility with the latest workstation technology, the Kortrijk, Belgium-based firm said. Other improvements include a new high-quality 2MP display and increased user flexibility.
The display controller is based on PCI-Express architecture, which maximizes image download performance and provides compatibility with the latest PC technology, according to the firm. It provides faster and smoother 3D operations, with support for OpenGL 1.5 and Microsoft DirectX 9.0 standards.
The 21.3-inch color display features in-plane switching (IPS) technology to enhance viewing from different angles, and is designed for reading 3D CT, MRI, and PET images, Barco said.
