The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) will launch a year-long investigation into whether a baccalaureate degree should be a requirement for taking the Radiation Therapy Exam.
The ARRT’s six-step action plan will compile data on exam performance, community opinion, practice analysis, policy capture, competency performance, and employer satisfaction. The organization has already begun comparing exam results for graduates of different programs -- certificate, associate, baccalaureate -- and is designing a community survey.
The action plan will be discussed at the upcoming ASRT Radiation Therapy Conference, to be held October 22-25 in Boston. More information is available at the ARRT Web site.
