The American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) will join the American College of Radiology (ACR) Radiology Leadership Institute (RLI) as its newest affiliate organization, according to the ACR.
The partnership means that certain ACPE courses will be incorporated into the leadership institute's curriculum, permitting RLI participants to earn credits both with the institute and the ACPE. In addition, participants will also be able to use the credits they earn from other ACPE-approved institute courses toward an advanced business degree with one of ACPE's partner universities. The credits can also be applied toward the Certified Physician Executive (CPE) certificate, the ACR said.
Founded in 1975, the ACPE aims to encourage physicians to assume active leadership roles in healthcare organizations while helping physicians acquire leadership skills. The ACR said it looks forward to helping RLI participants develop their leadership abilities.
For its part, the institute said the partnership will allow it to enhance the educational reach of the RLI and ACPE to physician executives. In addition, incorporating ACPE coursework further enhances the development of radiology's future leaders by providing participants a pathway to earn graduate business degrees, the RLI said.
