The CEO of the American College of Radiology (ACR), Dr. Harvey L. Neiman, plans to retire in the spring of 2014.
Neiman became CEO of the ACR 10 years ago and has been associated with the organization for the past 20 years, including stints as member and chair of the group's Board of Chancellors. He has played an integral part in the development of many of the college's programs and initiatives, including the launch of the ACR Education Center, the Radiology Leadership Institute, the Journal of the American College of Radiology, the ACR Dose Index Registry, and the Harvey L. Neiman Health Policy Institute.
Neiman previously was professor of radiology at Northwestern University, professor of radiology at Temple University, and chair of the department of radiology at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was also chief of cardiovascular radiology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and chief of cardiac radiology at University Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI.
Neiman will transition into retirement over the next year, and ACR is seeking a replacement to "shadow" him before he steps down in 2014.
