A new Interventional Radiology (IR) Registry has been launched by the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) and the American College of Radiology (ACR) to enable interventional practices to compare themselves with regional and national benchmarks.
The IR Registry is designed to help interventional radiologists improve quality of care and clinical outcomes for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures by providing comparative benchmark data at the national, regional, and practice level.
Participation in the registry will enable interventional practices to fulfill reporting requirements for the Quality Payment Program by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), including the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). Practices can also gain credits toward maintenance of certification (MOC) part IV from the American Board of Radiology.
The IR Registry is part of the ACR's National Radiology Data Registry (NRDR), which includes multiple databases that compile data, allowing radiology facilities to compare themselves with other sites regionally and nationally based on facility type. More information is available by clicking here.
