The American College of Radiology (ACR) announced that it opposes the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' 2021 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) final rule.
The ACR opposes the rule, which was issued December 1, due to its evaluation and management policy. This policy will result in significant reimbursement cuts to specialties, including radiology, that do not perform evaluation and management services.
An ACR-led coalition of more than 65 medical associations is lobbying legislators to stop the cuts before they adjourn in December. The coalition is urging clinicians to contact their legislators and request that they include these protections in the end-of-the-year legislative package.
