The American College of Radiology Association (ACRA) has awarded four state radiology societies grants which will be used to educate legislators about the importance of radiologists.
The Scope of Practice (SOP) grants were awarded to societies in Kansas, New York, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
The ACRA's SOP fund was established this year in an effort to protect patients and patient access to radiologist expertise by fighting state and federal nonphysician scope of practice expansion legislation, which reduces radiologist oversight and enables direct billing, the association said.
