The American College of Radiology (ACR) has launched a new strategic plan to focus and drive the organization's activities in coming years.
Called "Empowering the Radiologist of the Future," the plan consists of 12 interconnected and interdependent strategic objectives organized across four organizational perspectives, the ACR said. When fully implemented, the plan will support improved health equity, quality, delivery, and outcomes.
Specifically, objectives include measures to continue to do the following:
- Increase inclusivity and transparency in ACR decision-making
- Strengthen multidirectional communication
- Promote radiologists' role in population health and health equity
- Champion leveraging and mobilization of emerging technology and artificial intelligence
"Our strategy work will guide the ACR as our healthcare system undergoes rapid changes in regulation, in payment, in types of care delivery, as well as from a host of other challenging factors," said Dr. Frank Lexa, co-chair of the ACR Strategic Planning Committee, in a news release.
