The American College of Radiology (ACR) announced at its ACR 2022 conference that Dr. Robert Zeman is the recipient of the Dr. William T. Thorwarth, Jr. Award.
Zeman is a professor and chairman of radiology and radiation oncology at the George Washington University School of Medicine, and he received the award for 17 years of service to the ACR Commission on Economics, including chair of the contractor advisory committee network. Also, he has been a strong voice in national and local Medicare coverage determinations for many imaging services, according to the ACR.
The Dr. William T. Thorwarth, Jr. Award is given annually to individuals who demonstrate outstanding contributions to the field of health policy and economics for radiology.
