U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield (R-KY) has introduced the Consistency, Accuracy, Responsibility, and Excellence (CARE) in Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy bill (HR 2104) in the U.S. House of Representatives.
The proposed legislation would set federal minimum education and certification standards in the Medicare program for technical personnel providing, planning, and delivering all medical imaging examinations and radiation therapy treatments.
The CARE bill, which has 18 co-sponsors in the House, was sent to the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the House Committee on Ways and Means for review.
