The American College of Radiology (ACR) has opened up applications for its 2020 internship program for underrepresented minorities and women in their first year of medical school.
First launched in 2016, the primary objective of the Pipeline Initiative for the Enrichment of Radiology (PIER) internship program is to provide more opportunities for minorities and women to explore the field of radiology.
The 2020 internship will begin in June and end with the presentation of the participants' research during the National Medical Association annual meeting in July or August. Following the program, five PIER internship candidates will be chosen to work alongside radiologists in academic and private practice settings.
The deadline for the online application process is December 31, 2019.
