Portable digital x-ray developer MinXray recently launched a line of wireless handheld ultrasound devices.
Adding ultrasound technology to its product line provides clinicians with a new option for home health screening, obstetrics, evaluation of masses, blood flow velocity, and a variety of other procedures, regardless of patient location, MinXray said.
Multiple probe models are available, with most including multiple scan modes. The units are both compact in size and waterproof and some units offer three hours of continuous battery life. The wireless handheld ultrasound probes now available include the following:
- SX-1CTS triple-headed color probe (convex/linear convex with mode of phased array scan)
- SX-5C double-headed color probe (micro-convex/linear)
- SX-7C double-headed color probe (round curvilinear/linear)
- EU-1C ophthalmic scanner
- UX-8P double-headed color probe (linear and phased array scan)
- EL5CE double-headed endocavity (transvaginal) /curvilinear color probe
- US-2T endocavity/transvaginal color probe
- UX-2D bi-plane endocavity color probe
The new ultrasound units will be on display at the company’s booth at the upcoming RSNA meeting.
