Julie Dawn Bolin has been elected 2024-2025 president of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Technologist Section (SNMMI-TS).
Bolin is program director of nuclear medicine technology at GateWay Community College in Phoenix, AZ, and nuclear medicine technologist at Banner University Medical Center in Tucson. She is treasurer and leadership academy chair of the SNMMI's Pacific Southwest Technologist Chapter (PSWTC) and education specialty area representative of the chapter's national council of representatives.
She is an SNMMI-TS fellow and has received the League for Innovation-League Excellence Award, the Journal of Nuclear Medicine Technology Editor’s Choice award for best continuing education article, and the Maricopa Excellence in Teaching Nuclear Medicine Technology Scholarship.
Bolin received her certificate in nuclear medicine technology from the Research Medical Center School of Nuclear Medicine Technology in Kansas City, MO, and earned a master’s degree in biological science from the University of St. Joseph in Hartford, CT.
"I am deeply committed to advancing our field, particularly in educating the next generation of nuclear medicine technologists," she said in a statement released by the society. "It's imperative that we prioritize building a robust workforce pipeline, which involves not only engaging middle school, high school, and college students about nuclear medicine but also providing continuing education for current professionals to adapt to the evolving imaging and radiotherapy landscape."
