Siemens Medical Solutions will introduce its syngo Colonography with PEV (polyp-enhanced viewing) software at this month's RSNA show.
An optional add-on to the Malvern, PA, vendor's syngo Colonography application, PEV is a second-reader tool for automated identification of colon lesions. It allows the radiologist to make a computer-assisted second pass over the patient data to increase detection accuracy.
PEV can be activated as the radiologist begins the primary read, highlighting potential lesions not marked by the radiologist. Further enhancements include automated polyp measurement and visualization of unseen areas.
Siemens is working on three other CT applications, including:
- Advanced Bone Removal for syngo InSpace4D, which is currently under 510(k) review.
- syngo Body Perfusion CT, which is a work-in-progress.
- CT Respiratory Gating for radiation planning, which is currently under 510(k) review.
