Computed radiography manufacturer iCRco of Torrance, CA, has purchased the assets of Radiographic Digital Imaging, a developer of CR systems and film scanners.
Among the RDI products that iCRco is acquiring are the CobraScan film digitizer and the CR1 computed radiography reader. CR1 is notable in that it is an affordable system and does not require users to handle imaging plates, according to the company. This extends plate life and reduces imaging artifacts.
iCRco will continue to develop, sell, install, and service CR1, and will offer a combined system that includes a CR unit and film digitizer. This will enable imaging facilities to use a single system to digitize older film-based studies while conducting CR-based exams with existing patients.
