Konica Minolta Medical Imaging of Wayne, NJ, is set to launch an exam and cassette identification tool for radiologists and technologists who need to perform CR exams at the point of patient care.
The Konica Minolta Xpress Portable Assistant is a handheld device with a built-in barcode reader with a touch-screen control with keypad, and a cradle and stylus. Patient exams are downloaded into the device from the firm's Xpress CR Control Station (CS-1) Modality Worklist, according to the company.
Once the exam is completed, plate registration can be uploaded back to a CS-1 Control Station in the network for plate processing and confirmation. The product will be available this summer, Konica Minolta said.
