An expanded product line and the addition of a mobile dental x-ray unit helped lift revenues for digital x-ray developer AFP Imaging in the second quarter and first six months of fiscal 2008 (end-December 31).
In the second quarter, revenues for the Elmsford, NY, company increased by 10% to $8.6 million, compared with $7.9 million in the same quarter of fiscal 2007. The company also posted a net loss of $1.7 million, compared with net income of $606,000 in the same quarter of 2007.
For the six-month period, net revenues increased 20% to $16.1 million, compared with $13.4 million in the same period of fiscal 2007. The company's six-month net loss was $2.4 million, compared with net income of $38,000 in 2007.
Both the second-quarter and six-month net losses were due in part to greater operating expenses associated with marketing, support, and distribution of AFP's 3D product line. Results for fiscal 2008 include AFP's new subsidiary, QR, of Verona, Italy.
