Bard boosts sales in Q2

Interventional technology provider C.R. Bard of Murray Hill, NJ, has posted financial results for the second quarter of 2008 (end-June 30).

For the period, net sales were $617.1 million, up 13% compared with $583.3 million for the same period of 2007. U.S. net sales for the quarter were $406.3 million, up 8% compared to the same period in 2007. However, also in the second quarter, net income from continuing operations was $77.9 million, a decrease of 20% compared to 2007's second quarter results.

For the six months ended June 30, Bard's net sales were $1.2 billion, up 8% compared with $1.1 billion during the same period the previous year.
