Ethicon to acquire SurgRx

Interventional device developer Ethicon Endo-Surgery of Cincinnati plans to acquire SurgRx, a private developer of the advanced bipolar tissue-sealing system used in Ethicon's EnSeal family of products.

The acquisition will provide Ethicon Endo-Surgery with a new energy platform for its Harmonic line of ultrasonic medical devices, the company said. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
