Merit gets nod for Prelude

Disposable products developer Merit Medical Systems has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance for its Prelude short sheath introducer.

The device is used primarily for access to dialysis fistulas and grafts, according to the South Jordan, UT-based firm. It includes a marker tip for identifying the exact placement of the device, and an angled large-bore side arm for enhanced removal of blood clots, Merit said.
