Bracco to build $230M contrast media plant in N.C.

Italian diagnostic imaging company Bracco is investing $230 million to establish its first U.S. manufacturing facility for injectable contrast media, in Sanford, NC. 

The sterile manufacturing plant will add to Bracco’s production sites in Europe, Asia, and Canada. The investment marks a significant milestone in Bracco's global manufacturing strategy, expanding production capacity and strengthening supply chain resilience in the U.S., the company's largest market, according to the firm. 

The project is expected to create 200 jobs across manufacturing, engineering, technical operations, quality, warehousing, and administrative functions, Bracco said.
