Handheld-ultrasound developer SonoSite has introduced Titan, a modular high-resolution ultrasound system. Employing the next generation of SonoSite's application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) technology, Titan features what the Bothell, WA-based vendor calls its Maximum Modular Imaging (MMI) platform.
Titan allows for stationary or mobile usage, point-of-care connectivity via a mobile docking system, and a flexible upgrade path for acquisition of new components and software applications, SonoSite said. Titan's features include color power Doppler, pulsed wave Doppler, Tissue Harmonic Imaging (THI), M-mode, SiteLink DICOM, and on-board DICOM functionality, according to the vendor. Three transducer ports are included.
