Siemens upgrades ultrasound scanners

Siemens Medical Solutions has rolled out version 1.5 of its G60 S and G50 ultrasound systems, adding new 3-D features, pediatric and high-risk obstetric imaging capabilities, and increased DICOM functionality. Both systems will now include the vendor's 3-Scape real-time 3-D imaging option, which has been fully integrated into the system architecture, according to Siemens of Malvern, PA.

Other additions include a suite of high-resolution, curved- and phased-array transducers. Siemens has also incorporated new DICOM features into the products, including a DICOM modality worklist option.
