Handheld-ultrasound developer SonoSite reported fiscal 2003 third-quarter revenues of $20.2 million, an increase of 10% compared with $18.5 million in the same period last year. For the quarter (end-September 30), the Bothell, WA-based vendor had a net loss of $200,000 compared with a net loss of $2.4 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2002.
In the third quarter of 2003, U.S. revenue grew 22% and accounted for 67% of total sales, while revenue in Europe grew 27% compared with the third quarter of 2002, the company said.
For the nine months of 2003, revenue grew 20% to $57.5 million compared with $47.9 million for the same period in the prior year. Losses for the first three quarters have been brought down to $4 million, compared with a loss of $8.6 million for the same period in 2002.
