Ultrasound and radiotherapy vendor CIVCO Medical Solutions of Kalona, IA, has launched a new diagnostic imaging patient positioning device, the Diagnostic Vac-Lock cushion.
The apparatus is set up by wrapping the cushion around a patient and using a vacuum to draw the air out, creating a rigid cradle for the anatomical area to be immobilized throughout an imaging procedure. After the procedure is complete, the cushion can be reinflated, cleaned, and reused, CIVCO said.
