Analogic subsidiary B-K Medical of Copenhagen, Denmark, and Advanced Medical Diagnostics of Waterloo, Belgium, have teamed up to introduce the Belgium-based firm HistoScanning tissue characterization technology for use in the prostate.
Working in conjunction with transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) procedures, HistoScanning provides tissue differentiation, visualization, and measurement technology designed to assist specialists in identifying changes to solid organ tissues, according to the companies.
HistoScanning for the prostate is expected to be released in Europe later this year, according to B-K Medical and Advanced Medical Diagnostics.
