Zonare inks 12-scanner deal

Ultrasound technology developer Zonare Medical Systems of Mountain View, CA, has signed a deal to install 12 of its z.one compact ultrasound scanners at a healthcare system in West Virginia.

Zonare will install the systems at West Virginia United Health System (WVUHS), the largest healthcare provider in the state. WVUHS has already installed seven of the systems, and the deal extends over the next four years.

In other news, Zonare is showing a range of new products and enhancements at this week's American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) show in San Diego, including an obstetrical calculations package, an optional battery pack that enables cordless scanning for up to three hours, and new transducers for cardiac and high-frequency applications.
