Compact-ultrasound developer SonoSite expects revenues in the first quarter of 2008 (end-March 30) to increase 22%, to more than $52 million compared to the first quarter of 2007.
The Bothell, WA, company credited increases in foreign currency rates for an approximately 4% gain in worldwide revenues.
SonoSite also expects to post a profit, despite a one-time first-quarter charge of approximately $600,000. The charge is related to the integration of the company's former MarketBridge physician office channel and the elimination of overhead within its selling, general, and administrative expenses structure.
The first-quarter financial report also marks SonoSite's 10th year as a public company since breaking away from the former ATL Ultrasound on April 6, 1998. Detailed financial results are due for release on April 28.
