Ultrasound vendor Aloka will release its ProSound 3500SX ultrasound system at the 2008 American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) meeting next week in New Orleans.
The 4D system features a flat-panel display and improved ergonomics, enhanced 3D/4D viewing, and free 3D/4D viewing software for postprocessing on independent workstations, according to the Wallingford, CT-based firm. Aloka said it has also incorporated a USB port for media storage and an optional DVD/CD writer.
In addition, the scanner features an extended field-of-view for viewing the entire uterus for multiple gestations and placenta position, Aloka said. ProSound 3500SX is designed for obstetrics and gynecology, as well as for other clinical applications such as breast and urology, according to the company.
