Acusphere taps new VP

Ultrasound contrast developer Acusphere has appointed a new senior vice president for regulatory affairs and operations, the company said.

Starting September 29, Michael Slater replaces Dennis Bucceri in the post. Slater has served as senior vice president of operations since 2001; prior to joining Acusphere, he was vice president of operations and vice president of quality systems and regulatory affairs at Anika Therapeutics.

Slater has also served as vice president of regulatory affairs at Biogen, as an independent consultant to the biopharmaceutical industry, and as executive vice president of development operations for ImmuLogic Pharmaceutical, according to Watertown, MA-based Acusphere.
