Bernstein leaves Acusphere

Ultrasound contrast developer Acusphere said that the company's executive vice president of R&D has left after 14 years with the Watertown, MA, firm.

Howard Bernstein left Acusphere to pursue new opportunities, the company said. He was instrumental in developing Acusphere's core microsphere technology platform and in devising ways to apply the technology to new and existing drugs, such as Imagify, the company's lead product candidate, which is currently awaiting approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
