Cornell student develops pocket ultrasound device

A Cornell University graduate student has developed a prototype of a pocket-sized therapeutic ultrasound device.

The device is battery-powered and can stabilize a gunshot wound or deliver drugs to brain cancer patients, according to Cornell. Third-year Ph.D. student George Lewis developed the device, which is being tested in a clinical setting at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City.
