Echocardiography technology developer VentriPoint has completed development of a software package for 3D echocardiography studies.
Called VMS-3DE, the software is the latest addition to the company's family of VMS heart analysis systems. It works with VentriPoint's other applications that are based on the company's knowledge-based reconstruction (KBR) technology.
VMS-3DE provides analysis of 3D-acquired images of the right ventricle, which up to now has presented a significant challenge, according to the company. VentriPoint believes the software will prove particularly useful in scans of children and young adults.
Clinical evaluation of VMS-3DE was performed at the Heart and Diabetes Center North Rhine-Westphalia in Bad Oeynhausen, Germany, and clinical results have been submitted for presentation at the annual American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) meeting.
