(Booth 103) At the RSNA meeting, Beekley of Bristol, CT, plans to display a new line of skin markers for digital mammography applications.

2008 10 24 14 59 56 298 Beekley Wom 2008The company's Designed for Digital Spots markers allow for visibility of tissue detail through the marker without artifacts, and they help identify the location of scars, moles, and palpable abnormalities on an image.

Also highlighted in Beekley's booth will be its Cradles needle localization wire protectors. The protectors prevent wire migration when transporting patients to surgery and allow the localization wire to be visible at all times, the company said. Cradles were approved in September by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Finally, Beekley will showcase its Bella Blankets protective coverlets for mammography for use with bucky/receptor plates. Made of a fabric-like material, Bella Blankets help with positioning and make exams more pleasant, according to Beekley. Bella Blankets have also been cleared by the FDA.
