New Case Report analyzes Wilson's disease

Dear AuntMinnieIndia Member,

In our first issue of Letter from the India Editor, we spoke of our vision to build a vibrant community for radiology in the India region. Now, in our second issue, we take a step toward this with an insightful Case Report from Col Sree Ram and his colleagues from the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune.

In their Case Report, Col Sree Ram and his colleagues discuss some of the typical and not so typical MRI findings in Wilson's disease. Of specific interest to India is the similarity in MR findings between Wilson's disease and Japanese encephalitis, and the Case Report discusses how to differentiate between the two.

Also being featured this week on AuntMinnieIndia is an interesting pilot study on how teleradiology has enabled hospitals to staff internationally. The pilot was done between Bangalore and Yale-New Haven Hospital, U.S, by Dr Arjun Kalyanpur and his colleagues from the department of radiology at Yale-New Haven.

And finally, we're highlighting some interesting findings on filaria that question whether the filaria dance sign (FDS) observed on ultrasound is really caused by the adult filarial worm or by microfilaria.

Once again, I'd like to remind you that AuntMinnieIndia is designed to encourage feedback and participation from all stakeholders. So if you have a comment on an article, or would like to contribute an article or Case Report yourself, please get in touch with me at [email protected].
