What prompts radiology department cancellations of imaging orders?
Saliency maps using Grad-CAM++ (E and H) show the model’s point of interest in chest radiographs (C and F) of patients with achalasia. The model’s point of interest is highlighted with red, yellow, and green. In both the upper and lower panels (E and H), the point of interest is located in a region around the upper esophagus that corresponds to an air esophagogram and/or air-fluid level in the esophagus in the barium esophagogram (D and G).

Diagnostic transverse ultrasound image of the left breast in a 64-year-old woman shows irregular hypoechoic nonparallel mass with indistinct margins corresponding to palpable finding, assessed as BI-RADS category 4. Both readers assessed mass as having associated echogenic rind with complete circumferential extent (arrowheads). Ultrasound-guided biopsy of mass yielded diagnosis of invasive ductal carcinoma (intermediate grade, luminal A molecular subtype, no lymphovascular invasion).
