Three-dimensional-software developer Able Software of Lexington, MA, has released an update to its 3-D Doctor image visualization, rendering, and measurement software for CT, MRI, microscopy, and scientific images. The update includes new animation control functions for surgical planning and 3-D modeling applications.
The control permits an animation path of each 3-D object with more than 9° of freedom, including the size, location, orientation, and viewing angle. The animation can be played or saved to a digital movie file for remote viewing and presentation.
Other improvements include new functions to adjust size, location, and orientation of 3-D models, as well as an integrated display of raster image and polygon-based 3-D models. In addition, 3-D models created from different sources can be combined into a single coordinate system for display and comparison analysis, according to the firm.
